Here I'll walk you through how to draw Freddy Krueger step by step as a small chibi with a sly grin and a playful wave, so he looks more like a Halloween party guest than a movie villain. How to Draw Freddy Krueger Step by Step

Step 1: Draw a head circle, a center line and the ground

Draw a large circle a little above the middle of your page. Chibi characters get a head almost as big as the rest of the body, so let it be big. Then add a light vertical line through the middle, running down to a short flat line at the bottom where his shoes will stand.

Step 2: Add a body oval and stick lines for the pose

Step 4: Draw the round face and the ears

Trace the head circle from one side of the brim, around the chin, to the other side. I make the cheeks slightly wider than the guide, which gives that soft chibi face. Add a small rounded ear on each side, level with the eye line, and two short neck lines under the chin.

💡 Tip: Stop the face line where it meets the brim instead of drawing the full circle and erasing.

Step 5: Draw the tilted fedora with its band

Go over the brim oval with a smooth line. Then build the crown inside the box: the sides lean in a little, and the top has a pinched dip in the middle. Two curved lines near the bottom of the crown make the hat band, and one short line down from the dip shows the crease.

💡 Tip: Make the bottom edge of the crown curve downward; a flat edge makes the hat look pasted on.

Step 6: Draw the sweater, the arms and the hand on the hip

Start the sweater just under the chin with round shoulders, then bring the sides down so it widens a bit toward the hem. Follow the stick arms with even tubes. On the left, finish with a small oval hand resting on the hip. The right arm stops at the wrist, ready for the glove.

💡 Tip: Draw both arms before the stripes, since the arms cover part of the sweater.

Step 7: Draw the glove with four silver strips

This is the part everyone recognises, and in this version it's a cartoon prop, nothing sharp. Step 12: Color your Freddy

Color the sweater stripes in red and dark green, taking turns from top to bottom and along each sleeve. The hat, glove and pants are brown, with a darker band on the hat. Shoes go dark gray, the glove strips light gray or silver. Skin is peach with pink in the two soft patches, and a slightly darker peach right under the brim.

💡 Tip: Color all the red stripes first and the green ones after, so you never lose track of the pattern.

Where Freddy Sketches Tend to Wobble

Ruler-straight stripes. They flatten the body. Let every stripe dip slightly in the middle.
