Easy Card Making Techniques

Create a fun card using some dies and some fun techniques like using Distress Inks, heat embossing and stenciling!

Hi there! Laurel here today to show you a super fun card to make using some alphabet dies and a few simple techniques along the way!!! Here is what you will need for this card:

Lawn Fawn's Louie's ABCS dies

Text Background Stamp

Versamark Ink Pad

Mini Distress Inks (I used Dusty Concord, Peacock Feathers, Ripe Persimmon and Fossilized Amber on the letters. Shaded Lilac with the stencil. And Picked Raspberry for the base)

Tim Holtz Dot Fade Stencil

Round Blending tool

Tsukineko Pico embellisher in Shimmer or Glossy Accents

Clear Embossing Powder

Multi Matte Medium

Ruler

I heat embossed a text background onto some regular cardstock and heat set it with clear embossing powder. I then applied four different color distress inks in blocks of areas on the cardstock strip that would fit the size of the alphabet dies! Then I die cut the word "dude" (I seem to say that all the time, lol) and adhered it to my card using my favorite adhesive. I thought the card could add a little something more so I grabbed the Dot Fade stencil by Tim Holtz and randomly inked up parts of the stencil. To ensure a perfect match to my card panels, I inked up white card stock with the distress inks! That is a great way to use your inks to create colored cardstock!!! And finally, I added a layer of the Shimmer Pico Embellisher. It adds a little bit of dimension and shine right over those letters! This is a fun card to recreate using any saying. Hello, Awesome, Happy, Friend, etc... You get the idea!
