Hi Blitsy Fans!
Is anyone in love with watercolors like I am? I know I'm not alone! This is one beautiful trend that has taken the paper crafting community by storm and I honestly hope it will be here to stay! If not, I'm following it wherever! I credit watercolors for bringing me back to crafting and pushing me further into the art world than I could have imagined myself going. Let me let you in on a little secret, there is this thing that happens when you fall in love with a new medium, just one set isn't enough!!! I'm serious! I have a LOT of watercolors in my craft room now... a lot and I was super excited to add Mission Gold Watercolors by Mijello to my growing collection. There are a few different sets to choose from. The one I'm working with is the 24-set pan watercolors in the stunning rose gold case. It is absolutely gorgeous and I love how portable it is - the case is sleek and slim, has room for your brushes and is perfect to tuck into your purse or bag along with a journal to watercolor anywhere. When I first started watercoloring, I made lots of pretty background washes with the paints. I love doing that and stamping a sentiment on top but I have really been enjoying going further to paint other things like flowers, landscapes and more. I think a really good and simple place to start is abstract florals and that's what I have painted for you today. By using the brushes and their different shapes to create your strokes, even if you think you can't draw (me either), I promise you can create beautiful flowers. With Spring, literally, just around the corner, I had fun painting my favorite flowers in some beautiful, bright colors with Mijello Mission Gold Watercolors.
