I hope the New Year has been treating you well so far. I wanted to thank all of you for being so patient waiting for the winners of the Facebook Group challenge. In all honesty, I had the winner and post ready to go in the group and it just never went up. So, to make up for my tardiness, I have chosen MULTIPLE winners! I have LOVED looking at all of the entries and captions for this theme! That is also part of the reason I wanted to announce more than one winner. Tamara Stilwell Garner: This last year has been a year of firsts and this last few weeks I've been learning something NEW, encaustic wax. This is my first encaustic wax mixed media piece using cradled board canvas, Tim Holtz acrylic, ArtDeco Media paints, Tim Holtz crayons, tissue paper, stamps, vintage paper, gesso, modeling gel etc... I'm excited to add it to my art work bag of tools as I continue on a journey this year taking classes. I'm thankful to Blitzy for the products I get for such incredible prices to add to my toolbox. Since I have been so quiet the past few weeks, I figured it was only fair to give you guys a few updates as to what has been going on behind the scenes at Blitsy. I wear a LOT of hats and recently took on even more as we made some changes around the office. Of everything that I do my FAVORITE part of running this company is connecting with the community we've been building. I truly love to hear what our customers want, what you're making, and just connecting in general. I am so happy we created a Facebook Group for the Black Friday party this year because I finally feel like we have a pretty good spot to all connect on a regular basis. Our business Facebook page is still alive and thriving, but it is much harder to connect and build community on those types of pages. Don't ya think?
As a part of connecting with our community, I also head up all of our social media accounts, our blog, merchandising (picking products!), email content, and so many more things that would just start to bore you. The reason I bring up the merchandising part is because that has been the biggest change most recently. When my brothers and I started Blitsy 5 years ago it was built as a flash sale website. We did not take on any inventory, meaning you'd place your order and we'd get it from the supplier and then send it to you. There was a middle man causing our shipping to take a long time and we were relying on the accuracy of our suppliers' inventory numbers. Although our selection was huge and ever-changing, we knew the experience could be better.
In November 2016 just days before Black Friday we changed things. We now are bringing inventory into our warehouse and shipping SAME DAY. That means people in the US get their orders in 2-3 business days. I'm talking at your door in that time! Some people who ordered on Black Friday already had their goodies by the time we did Facebook Live on Cyber Monday. THAT is the type of experience we want to deliver. But speedy delivery is not the only factor in good service. The product selection has to be top notch. That is what I am honing in on right now.
We don't want to offer anything and everything. We want to offer you the best brands, the best selection, the best prices, the newest releases, and fill our virtual shelves with the things that will enable you to live a more creative life. With that being said, there are some trends that are guiding our decisions. Cardmaking & Memory Keeping / Planners & Stationery (wider selections and pretty notebooks, accessories never seen at Blitsy before) / Bullet Journaling / Hand Lettering / Watercolor / Mixed Media & Art Journaling / Bible Journaling / Study Materials (pretty pens, notebooks, highlighters, markers)/ Sketching.
You'll continue to see your favorite new releases from Brands on Blitsy, like Ranger, Tim Holtz, Graphic45, Tombow, MAMBI, Prima, WRMK, but you'll also see us bringing in some new and unique items! Most importantly, what do YOU want to see? Let me know in the comments. I will be reading them all!
It's trade show season, which means TONS of new releases coming your way. This past week I already attended the Atlanta Gift Market. I saw a few exciting brands. Russell + Hazel was a request from some Blitsy customers. They were there and their stuff is even prettier in person! Stay tuned for some great things coming soon from them on Blitsy. We ran into our friends from Simple Stories. I am really excited for their new Vinyl decals for planners. They are only $3.99-$4.99 and are super cute - coming soon!
While in Atlanta we stopped by Tombow's office. I am really excited about what's new from them this year (plus we have some super secret product discussions in the works!). We actually have some super secret discussions going on with a few brands. Who is ready for some Blitsy exclusives this year?!

The week after that I'll be at a show called Paper World in Germany. My hope is we are able to pick up some new and exciting lines for you guys there, too! It will be my first time at this show and my first time in Germany! I'll definitely share some #blitsybts on Instagram!
Facebook Live Updates
Next week will be really big on Facebook Live. On Monday at 1pm CT we will go live on our Business Facebook page with some updates. We will be announcing our new time for Live with Blitsy. You'll be able to find us EVERY Thursday at 10am CT. That will remain constant so you know you always have at least once a week that you can get inspiration and updates from us live! If that isn't a good time for you, you will always find the replay later in the day.
Thursday will be our constant, but we will also hop on at other times to share products, projects, and whatever else comes to mind!
