Since I have been so quiet the past few weeks, I figured it was only fair to give you guys a few updates as to what has been going on behind the scenes at Blitsy. I wear a LOT of hats and recently took on even more as we made some changes around the office. Of everything that I do my FAVORITE part of running this company is connecting with the community we've been building. I truly love to hear what our customers want, what you're making, and just connecting in general. I am so happy we created a Facebook Group for the Black Friday party this year because I finally feel like we have a pretty good spot to all connect on a regular basis. Our business Facebook page is still alive and thriving, but it is much harder to connect and build community on those types of pages. Don't ya think?
As a part of connecting with our community, I also head up all of our social media accounts, our blog, merchandising (picking products!), email content, and so many more things that would just start to bore you. The reason I bring up the merchandising part is because that has been the biggest change most recently. When my brothers and I started Blitsy 5 years ago it was built as a flash sale website. We did not take on any inventory, meaning you'd place your order and we'd get it from the supplier and then send it to you. There was a middle man causing our shipping to take a long time and we were relying on the accuracy of our suppliers' inventory numbers. Although our selection was huge and ever-changing, we knew the experience could be better.
In November 2016 just days before Black Friday we changed things. We now are bringing inventory into our warehouse and shipping SAME DAY. That means people in the US get their orders in 2-3 business days. I'm talking at your door in that time! Some people who ordered on Black Friday already had their goodies by the time we did Facebook Live on Cyber Monday. THAT is the type of experience we want to deliver. But speedy delivery is not the only factor in good service. The product selection has to be top notch. That is what I am honing in on right now.
We don't want to offer anything and everything. We want to offer you the best brands, the best selection, the best prices, the newest releases, and fill our virtual shelves with the things that will enable you to live a more creative life. With that being said, there are some trends that are guiding our decisions. Cardmaking & Memory Keeping / Planners & Stationery (wider selections and pretty notebooks, accessories never seen at Blitsy before) / Bullet Journaling / Hand Lettering / Watercolor / Mixed Media & Art Journaling / Bible Journaling / Study Materials (pretty pens, notebooks, highlighters, markers)/ Sketching.
