Feature Friday: Girl Loves Glam

This week on Feature Friday: Girl Loves Glam. Find out what craft supply McKenzie Guymon can't live without.

Welcome back to Blitsy's Feature Friday, where we chat with top DIY bloggers about creativity, craft fails, and whether they're a dog or a cat person. This week we spoke with McKenzie Guymon from Girl Loves Glam, an Idaho-based DIY and lifestyle blogger. Read on to learn about her favorite projects and the one supply she can't live without!

Tell us about Girl Loves Glam and how you got started.
I started Girl Loves Glam when I was trying to find a creative outlet during my husband's student teaching. I had an Etsy shop, but that just wasn't cutting it for me. My blog originally started as an ongoing shopping wishlist. I occasionally posted projects I was doing and things just started to take off from there. It is 100% different than how it started!

What is your favorite project that you have done so far and why?
My favorite project is definitely my office. Sometimes I have a hard time finding the words to really describe my style, but instead of using words, you can look at my office and know EXACTLY what my style is all about. This room is totally me and is full of really great details

Where do you get inspiration for your projects?
I am really inspired by different trends in fashion, both old and new. I feel like a lot of elements of fashion can be taken into everything from home decor, handmade jewelry, and paper crafting.

What craft product you can not live without?
I love markers! I can't live without them. I desperately wish I was an artist, but I just love to doodle and organize by writing on just about anything with a marker.

Cats or Dogs?
Dogs for sure! There has always been a dog that has been a part of my family. They have a special place in my heart!

How has your blog changed since you started?
I started without much direction at all and I tried to stay a little mysterious. That isn't the case at all anymore! My blog is much more focused and I keep my life a major part of it. I love it that way! It feels much more authentic now!

How do you fit crafting into your everyday life?
Crafting is really therapeutic for me. Most of the time, things that I craft don't end up on my blog because I do it just to keep my hands busy! My new favorite way to craft is with my 3 year old. I am all about kid crafting these days!

Are you self taught or did you learn from a class?
Most of what I have learned about crafting was taught by the craftiest person I know, my mom! She has always been very crafty and she even owned her own wedding floral business that she sold a few years ago.

What is your favorite crafting medium and what do you love about it?
Vinyl is by far my favorite! It can transform anything and everything. I love finding new ways to use vinyl.

What was the first thing you ever made?
When I was about 6, I remember making tiny floral arrangements with dried flowers with my mom. Straight out of the 90's, but I loved creating things with my mom.
