Welcome back to Blitsy's Feature Friday! This week we chatted with Carolina of 30 Minute Crafts, a blog dedicated to quick crafting. Learn about some of her favorite projects and where she gets her inspiration!

Tell us about 30 Minute Crafts and how you got started.
30 Minute Crafts is a site filled with crafts that can be done in 30 minutes or less. It started because I love crafting - but don't always have the time or energy for big, involved projects. Sometimes I want to make something awesome, without the big time commitment. That's where 30 Minute Crafts comes in. I've done crafts as long as I can remember. I have always loved creating things.

What is your favorite project that you have done so far and why?
My favorite thing? That's like asking me to pick a favorite child! I've done hundreds of projects, as you can see from my tutorials list. I always like projects that are super simple, require almost no skills at all, and look great. Among those are the Simple Thing 1 and Thing 2 Hair and the beer flowers. My most popular project is the Emergency Chocolate.

Where do you get inspiration for your projects?
All over! Some crafts are done for a reason - like a holiday, or an event at my child's school. Some come from seeing a craft supply, and having a fun idea for how to use it, and some come from seeing something elsewhere, and wanting a simple DIY version.

What is your biggest #craftfail?
I'm able to turn a lot of #craftfails around as I play with the project, so many of my craft fails turn into craft wins... but I do have days where nothing wants to work right. On those days, I take it as a sign that I shouldn't be crafting - I should just hang out on the sofa with a spoon and Costco-sized jar of Nutella while watching Gilmore Girls on Netflix.

How has your blog changed since you started?
I'd like to think that it has gotten better! I have always tried to have fun with the site, and create projects that I think others will enjoy making as well.

How do you fit crafting into your everyday life?
Crafting is naturally woven into every day. My kids ask me to make things for them - from custom stickers for their Legos to stuffed toys to storage solutions. I like to DIY solutions before heading to the store. And you'll always find a craft project in my purse - not always a 30 minute one, though! Right now I'm working on hand-quilting a small quilt.

Are you self taught or did you learn from a class?
Much of what I do is self-taught, but I absolutely love taking classes, and take them whenever I can. I know a little about a whole lot of crafting genres - from quilting to quilling, and scrapbooking to rug hooking - but I'm only an "expert" in a few of them. I love learning from someone who has dedicated themselves to mastering a single craft. I get to learn from their successes and failures, and it makes me a better crafter.

What is your favorites crafting medium and why?
I love fabric. I share quite a few no-sew and simple-sew projects, but when I'm not working on 30 Minute Crafts, I'm often working on more involved quilt classes.

What was the first thing you ever made?
The first thing I ever made!? I have no idea. I was making things and entering them into contests when I was still in grade school. I even won some ribbons at the county fair! One for a ceramic sculpture when I was about 8, and one for a giant Santa's Workshop diorama that I made with a friend. I still have the sculpture here somewhere...
