5 Scrapbook Conventions to Check Out in 2017

Posted by Meghan Quinones
Shop, crop, and learn at one of these 5 scrapbook conventions in 2017!

With the new year right around the corner you may be hard at work curating your list of New Year's Resolutions for 2017. If you are a scrapbooker (or crafter in general) one of these resolutions should be to allow more time for yourself to focus on what you love (we could all use a little more craft time in our lives!). Learning a new skill or craft is another resolution you may have on your list. If one or both of these resolutions are on your 2017 list, I have a way for you to knock out both at the same time: attend a scrapbook convention! There is no better way to connect with like-minded people, shop, craft, and learn!

If you've never attended a scrapbook convention, you're probably wondering how they work. Well, they're pretty much your happy place if you're a crafter, especially if you're a scrapbook lover. There are classes and workshops where you can learn new techniques, get inspiration from industry leaders, play with new tools and leave with cool scrapbook project ideas!

"Crops" are the social part of the convention where you can work on one of your many projects while catching up with old friends and meeting new ones. If you love to shop, you are covered. There is typically a marketplace with the latest paper crafts products for purchase to add to your stash. Giveaways and prizes (and sometime swag bags!) are awarded throughout the convention. So, if shopping is not in the budget, you may end up with something without having to spend a dime!

Hopefully by now you are super pumped to keep your New Year's resolution of giving yourself some time to focus on the craft you love most while learning a new skill or technique. To make it super simple, I've put together a list below of 5 scrapbook conventions to attend in 2017. What are you waiting for? Start planning your trip now!
