I was recently checking out some of the home goods from Kate Spade. Man, they were super cute, but unfortunately were out of my budget range. Instead of pouting about it and convincing myself I would never own anything as cute as those darn gold polka dot tumblers, I decided to do something about it. That's right, I decided to make my own version of the tumblers I spied!
The original tumblers I spotted from Kate Spade were clear with gold polka dots. Now, I was going to try and find some clear tumblers, but instead came upon another color that I fancied even more! Oh, and the price was right; my tumblers were $1! Yep, I got four dark green tumblers for $1 and, at that price, I threw in four matching bowls. That's four tumblers and four bowls for $2! I know you guys can do math, but I just had to emphasize this amazing deal. ;)
To create my version of the Kate Spade tumblers I had fallen in love with, I grabbed some gold vinyl adhesive, Dishwasher Safe Mod Podge, and a circle punch. That's all folks! After I punched out a ton of gold circles, I stuck them to my dishes (super simple, right?). To prevent my cute little dots from falling off when washed, I covered them in a layer of Dishwasher Safe Mod Podge. This was a little more tedious, but once I got into a groove, it went by really fast. There you have it, Kate Spade inspired tumblers and bowls at a (serious) fraction of the cost of the real deal!
