Creating with Prima Princess Stamps

These stamps from Prima Marketing are each unique and full of personality. The images are detailed and perfect for coloring with several mediums. Because you can color them yourself, the possibilities for how to use them are numerous. Below are a few ideas of how to color them in and then incorporate them into a project.

Here are three of my favorite ways to add color to Prima Marketing Princess stamps.

1. Watercolors
Prima Watercolor Confections pair beautifully with these stamps. Simply grab some Prima watercolor paper and watercolor brush pens and begin mixing and painting. The paints are professional-grade and come in a portable tin. You'll love the bright, intense, smooth and long-lasting color that is produced by these small but mighty watercolors!

2. Watercolor Pencils
If you like the look of watercoloring but prefer to color in a more traditional way, these watercolor pencils are perfect for you. Use them to add color as you would normally and then using a watercolor brush pen to apply small amounts of water, "paint" the images and watch the water soluble pencils blend and soften.

3. Ink Pads
The new Color Philosophy ink pads from Prima are pretty amazing. They are magnetic to one another making stacking and storing a breeze. The colors are fun and the inks themselves are water-based and blendable so they create yet another watercolor look with ease. Apply some ink to an acrylic block or simply press the lid down while closed and pick the color up from the inside of the lid. Try using them as a "paint" or use them to stamp the Prima Princesses and spritz with water for a dreamy, soft look.

Now that you've colored your Prima Princesses, how do you use the pretty images? Here are just a few ways you can turn them into beautiful projects.

Layered Effects
Stamp and color numerous images of the same stamp and cut each one out. Use foam squares to layer the images (see photos above) creating a dimensional effect. Use this technique on a card, mixed media project, gift tag or on anything that needs a visual pop.

Florals on Florals
For a different 3-dimensional effect, adhere Prima Flowers on top of the flowers in your images (as seen in the first photo). It gives a surreal touch to the Princesses and adds additional texture and color.

Turn Them into Art
Because these stamps are approximately 5"x7", they work well for larger scale home decor or mixed media projects. Use them in a shadow box, create a banner or grab one of these cool Watercolor Canvas Panels and work directly on it. Then hang your art and admire your lovely work!
