Boy layouts can sometimes be hard to create! Today I'm using a great collection kit and pre-made embellishments to create a fun boy theme layout with flair.
The Perfect Scrapbook Layout for Your Little Boy
Here's what you'll need:
Cardstock- American Crafts 12x12 Summer Pack
Echo Park Jack and Jill
Jillibean Soup Staples
Tombow Foam Tabs
Tombow MONO permanent adhesive
Fiskars paper trimmer
Fiskars Amplify scissors
Black fine point pen
To begin today's layout, I started with a sketch and two 4x6 photos. I usually print 100's of photos at a time, so 4x6 is mostly what you'll see from me and on my layouts. I love these for fast layouts! See an example of a sketch below.
Next, choose some cardstock and patterned paper. Five patterns were chosen for this one, since there would be banners made on this layout. Choose coordinating cardstock as well.
Choose one of the cardstock choices to create mattes for the photos. This is a 4-1/4"x 6-1/4" matte below.
Now, lets get some other pieces ready! Trim some white cardstock down to 1/2" strips and ink the edges. These will be for your journaling. In the second photo below, notice how both ends get a banner-cut to match the rest of the page.
Cut the patterned paper down to 10" and banner cut the ends. Make each strip a different width, ranging from 1/2" to 2". This will give you a great variety on the layout.
Create some embellishments by layering cardstock under pre-made tags or using 3-D adhesive to raise stickers. This give the page movement and dimension.
Lastly, add some stitching if you choose. Stitching for me just makes the layout feel finished and polished. A zig zag stitch was done here to mimic the banner shapes.
That's it! With just a little bit of cutting and layering, we have completed a fun and colorful boy layout in just a little bit of time.
Thanks a bunch for stopping by the blog today to get your daily dose of inspiration. There's always something creative here. Have a happy crafty day!
