Hi Blitsy Fans!
Today I'm pulling out my Dylusions Creative Journal in Black and Gelli Arts Mini Plates to have some fun. I hope you will join me as I explore this new substrate and tool to create some big, bold, bright geometric inspired art journal pages. If I thought a blank white space intimidated me, man I had no idea what was about to happen when I opened that crisp, new black journal. I was in for some very fun creative play and it really made me think outside the box since I tend to start my journal pages by laying down text or pattern paper with a light layer of white gesso. (Saying that, I'm now thinking a bottle of black gesso is in order to try something else in this unique journal! Definitely stay tuned as I may need to share that experiment with you in another post!)
This was also my first time working with the Gelli Arts plates and I absolutely love the mini size - they are so fun to use as stamps to create one of kind prints all over your art journal pages. I'm hooked and will definitely be picking up some large Gelli Arts plates during our next sale!!! There was no doubt in my mind as this is a Dylusions Creative Journal that I would be using my Dyan Reaveley Dylusions paints for this first dive into this journal. Of course she designed this journal to work beautifully with her paints and I can definitely see why. The colors really pop on this black card stock and they were really interesting to use with the mono printing since her paints are basically translucent so you get some very unique layers as the colors peek though. So, hard to explain so I created a video for you to see for yourself!
