Die-cutting is a great way to make your own stencils for your mixed media projects. For starters it is really quick and easy to do. All you need to keep in mind is how the positive and negative of the die looks once it is cut. If you keep this in mind, you can make your own bespoke stencils with lots of different dies.
I use a heavyweight cardstock or even cereal boxes to make my stencils – they can be quite robust, standing up to several reuses. You can use them with inks, paints, sprays or all sorts of different colouring materials, gels and pastes. They are also great for lots of different projects.
So go rummage through you die collection or check out all the dies that are on sale in Blitsy and start making your bespoke stencils.
