Make an Easy & Beautiful Card By Layering Embellishments
Use papercrafting embellishments to create beautiful trinkets that also serve a great centerpiece for your DIY card.
Sometimes I love simply taking embellishments and creating layered paper trinkets of different shapes and sizes. It's fun just to sit down and create for the sake of creating without being overly concerned about the end result. As you can see in the photo I stockpiled a small collection of pretty paper trinkets. I used mine to create a few cards.
My recipe for creating these paper crafted trinkets always start with one item that serves as my primary source of inspiration. I will pull all of these elements together with different types of adhesives, including a glue tape dispenser for simple adhering and foam tape or dots to add depth and movement. I will share with you my steps for pulling one of these paper crafted trinkets together!

Neenah Card Stock 8.5" x11"
In the image below, I selected the fun embellishment card with the sentiment "be crafty." How appropriate! This card will serve as my primary source of inspiration.
The color of the sewing machine in this card is teal, and it matches well with the teal polka dot patterned paper tag as well the other teal tag with gold trim I selected.
The theme of the card is "be crafty" and so there were embellishments in Crate's Paper Craft Market collection that matched this theme. So I added the embroidery hoop.
...and also the paint brush and scissors.
Finally, I topped this trinket off with a gold glitter dipped clothespin! I then attached the trinket to a card cut and scored to 4.25 x 5.5 inches.
Here is another look at another paper crafted trinket card I created! I promised that once you get started, you won't stop!
I want to share something personal about the trinket in the image below. At first glance, based on my recipe for success, the "sold" tag, the paintbrush and the "favorite memories" circle embellishment might not make much sense. This was a trinket I created to celebrate my family's moving this summer (also the reason for the small "July" tag)!! Our new home will be a place where I hope we will make our own and create a lot of happy memories! The source of inspiration for this paper crafted trinket is an event -- our big move!
