Create a cute keepsake with this summery & sweet kid's handprint artwork DIY.

I scream. You scream. We ALL scream for ICE CREAM!!!

Today's Handprint Ice Cream Keepsake Idea is a fun summer themed kid craft that is super easy and fun for all ages. Not to mention, it also makes for awesome decor for your house or a great keepsake to remember the amazing summer you had with your child. You can even take this idea to the next level by getting the WHOLE family involved by including their handprints as well.

It's a cinch! All you need is a large canvas, bright colored paint and a little creativity to create a one-of-a-kind piece that can be treasured for years to come!

So what are you waiting for? Don't let this idea "melt" away! Grab your craft supplies and follow our step-by-step tutorial below. Happy crafting the summer away, my friends!!

Here's what'll you need:

* Large Canvas
* Paint {pick a theme, a favorite color - whatever your heart desires!}
* Paint Brushes
* Paper Plate
* Baby Wipes

Let's get crafty!

* First you will want to paint the ice cream cone {this will make it easier to place the handprints} To do this, simply paint a brown triangle, near the bottom of the canvas.
* Next are the handprint ice cream scoops. To do this, simply paint your child’s hand and press it down on the canvas, near the ice cream cone. Repeat for how many layers you want/the look you like.
*To finish off the Handprint Ice Cream Keepsake - grab some paint and have children add some fun colored dots {sprinkles} & a cherry on top. To give our piece some flair, we added a fun decorative dot pattern around the edge, by dipping the end of our paint brush in paint, then on our canvas.
* Once you are done, let it all dry completely before displaying or gifting away!
