I love shopping for home decor, but hate when I can't find what I need. When I get an idea in my head of a color or pattern I like, I begin to search high and low for the exact item, but usually come up empty handed. Talk about frustrating! In my years of searching (for pretty much every type of home decor), I've found it's better to make what you want instead of buy it. This way you get exactly what you want!

We have an awesome royal blue couch in our studio that was in need of some lovin'. I thought a yellow pillow would be the perfect addition and would pop against the dark blue color. I grabbed a pillow cover we had in the craftroom and the Stencil1 Square Petals stencil. I loved the petal design and thought it was very modern and clean. I thought the pattern would go great with the design of our couch. To create my pillow, all I did was place my stencil over my pillow cover and added my paint. So easy, right? The Stencil1 stencil worked beautifully and transformed my blank pillow cover in minutes!

Stencil1 stencils won Product of the Year and have also received high awards in the home design category. Since the stencil designs are larger, they can be incorporated into so many home decor projects. You could use one of the stencils to add a pattern to a wall in your home, transform a table, lampshade, or (in my case) a pillow. These stencils are just what you need to bring a little life into any room in your home!

How would you use these stencils?

Here's what you'll need:

  • Stencil1 Stencil (Square Petals Repeat Pattern)
  • Fabric Paint
  • Stencil Brush
  • Protective Surface
  • Spray Adhesive
  • Pillow
  • Pillowcase (or you can make your own!)

Let's get crafty!
