To get started pick out a great simple die cut for your design. I chose a large outlined butterfly. I find that this work great with large graphic dies. However, you can use sentiments and smaller designs as well. Place your die on a sheet of Thermoweb Deco Foil White Foam Adhesive sheets and run it through your die cut machine. Pop it out of your die and you are ready for the next step.
There are two adhesive sides to your die cut. Peel off one side of the adhesive and lay down a piece of DecoFoil to cover your image. I love using gold foil as it just adds a bit of elegance to my cards. Now is where you want to burnish the foil onto your die cut. You can either use a bone folder or your fingers. Just make sure that all the foil has adhered to your die cut. This will insure that you get an even coverage when you remove the foil sheet.
Peel back your foil and look at the gorgeous results.Take some time to clean up your around the die cut by gently wiping around the edges.. This way you'll have a smooth finish. I mean how easy was that? Your new die cut is ready for it's debut on a card or project. Since you burnished the foil it will not flake off and will stay shiny. It's now the star of your next card.
I kept my card on trend by giving it a clean and simple look. I placed my die cut on a white card base and stamped a simple sentiment in black. Keeping everything clean and simple allows my shiny foiled butterfly to stand out. Also stamping in onyx black Versafine ink will guarantee a crisp black sentiment.
