Supplies You Will Need:
Avery Elle Bonjour Stamp Set
Lawn Fawn So Much to Say Stamp Set
Liquid Frisket (or other masking agent or masking pen)
Distress Ink Antique Linen
VersaFine Black Onyx Ink
Ranger Clear Embossing Powder
Spectrum Aqua Markers (Bud Green, Chocolate, Rose Pink, Aquamarine, Yellow, Sunflower)
Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens (Crystal Clear, Moonlight, Emerald Green, Smoked Quartz)
First, stamp your sentiment. I used VersaFine ink. Then I covered it in clear embossing powder and heat embossed it.
Then, I stamped the macaroon in Distress Ink Antique Linen. Since Distress Inks react with water, the ink will blend away as I color and won't be noticeable.
Using an old paintbrush (you can use the Nib that comes in the set if you prefer), I covered the stamped macaroon in Liquid Frisket. You can use any type of liquid masking agent or you can trim out a sheet of paper and use that to cover the image, too.
I continued to stamp and then add the Frisket, letting it dry each time before stamping on top of it.
Once I was done stamping and it was all dry, I rubbed it away with a rubber square. Your fingers will also work; just make sure they are clean!
Then I started to color. I used an acrylic block and scribbled some Spectrum Aquas onto it. Then, instead of using water, I used a clear Spectrum Aqua Sparkle Pen. They react in almost the exact same way iwth the pens as they do water, so you can blend away, but with tons of shimmer.
I also used some of the color Sparkle pens, just to make some darker shadows.
Once all of the cookies were colored in, I added just a touch of Aquamarine at the bottom of the card and then pulled the color up. As the color faded out, only the shimmer was left. The entire card is completely sparkly!!!!
For a finishing touch and a little dimension, I added a few yellow sequins.
I adhered it to a pink card base, to pick up the pink color in the bottom most macaroon.
And that's it! Pretty easy! This technique would also work with Distress Markers or even Distress Inks. Any marker that reacts with water should have the same effect!
