I have a small group of friends that we all get together about once a month to Bible Journal. This is a great way to bring your artwork into your worship and I can't tell you how much fun it is to see everyone's take on a verse. We all do the same verse and we've known about it for several weeks to ponder on what it means to each of us. Then when we sit down to craft together and it's amazing what all the different pieces look like. It's so much fun.

Sometimes when you are starting on Bible Journaling it's hard to make those first marks on the pages as it goes against everything we were taught as a child. I'll walk you through an easy Bible Journaling page to help you get started or if you're already Bible Journaling, to inspire you in finding a new way to praise.

  • Stampendous Cling Stamp 4"X6"-Ranunculus Field
  • Prima Marketing Mixed Media Watercolor Pencils - Spring & Fall
  • Prima Watercolor Brush Pens 2 Pack - 12mm & 15mm
  • Prima Marketing Christine Adolph Adhesive Rub-Ons - Hope Words
  • Waffle Flower Die - Amazing
  • Le Pens .03mm Point - Assorted Colors
  • Prima Marketing Finnabair Art Extravagance Glitter Set - Abloom
  • Clearsnap ColorBox Archival Dye Inkpad - Wicked Black

Using archival ink stamp the image in the border of your page. Don't worry that the stamp might not fit all the way, you can either just ink up a portion of the stamp set or stamp over the words. It's your choice.

Next color in your image with watercolor pencils. I use two different colors that coordinate like this pink and red. When you got to blend them it will add more detail to your coloring.

Using a water pen by Prima blend the colored sections together and smooth out the color.

Next I used an adhesive rub on word from Prima, HOPE. These are wonderful to use in journaling as you can still see through the word even after the glitter is added. Sprinkle the word with Prima glitter and shake off the excess.

Cut out the Amazing word die cut and then use the negative for a stencil to add the word AMAZING. You can color this with the colored pencils or you could use a sponge dauber and ink.

I finished off my words by lining them with a fine tip pen. It just helps make the words POP. This is my finished page " AMAZING HOPE" and the passage was from Jeremiah 29. I'd love to see what you get out of that verse and how you create it into art, remember don't be afraid to use different types of mediums in your Bible. It's just plain fun.
