Here in Chicago, it's way too cold (seriously, it snowed last weekend!) for outdoor festivals yet, but in Coachella's home state of California it's, like, totally warm! rnd 1. Begin with a magic ring. In that ring, work the following. clr A: ch 2, hdc 5 in loop, sl to join (6 ch)
rnd 2. ch2, hdc in same st, hdc 2 in 1 around, sl to join (12 ch)
rnd 3. ch2, hdc 2 in 1, (hdc 1, hdc 2 in 1) around, sl to join (18 ch)
rnd 4. clr B: ch2, hdc 1, hdc 2 in 1, (hdc 2, hdc 2 in 1) around, sl to join (24 ch)
rnd 5. ch2, hdc 2, hdc 2 in 1, (hdc 3, hdc 2 in 1) around, sl to join (30 ch)
rnd 6. clr A: ch2, hdc 3, hdc 2 in 1, (hdc 4, hdc 2 in 1) around, sl to join (36 ch)
rnd 7. ch2, hdc 4, hdc 2 in 1, (hdc 5, hdc 2 in 1) around, sl to join (42 ch)

Make and assemble purse.
Make 2 circles following the pattern for how to make circles above. Using clr A, join the two circles, wrong sides facing, with 60 sl sts tbl.
Worked flat across the open top of the circles that have been joined with sl sts.
row 1. Without breaking yarn, hdc 20, ch 3, turn.
row 2. tr 20, ch 3, turn.
row 3. tr 2 in 1, tr 15, tr 2 in 1, break yarn & draw tail thru
Make bag strap
row 1. Using clr A: ch5, tr 2 starting in 3rd ch from hook, ch 3, turn.
row 2. tr 2, ch3, turn.
Repeat row two 85 times or to desired length. On the last row, break yarn & draw tail thru. Weave ends into strap.
Using clr A, sew strap to sides of bag VERY strongly. Weave in all ends.
Cut clr A and B yarn into several 22-inch lengths. Attach to bottom of bag using a crochet hook.
