Embroidered Dish Towels

Embroidered dish towels are an easy project that you can customize to your decor.

Embriodery is so much fun and the crafting possibilities are endless. I love how you can use it to customize your home decor or a special gift.

A few weeks ago I was in need of a gift for some family friends. This couple is very special to me and I wanted to give them a gift that showed just how much.

My friend has recently started a blog, Sew This.. Farm That, and I thought it would be neat to give her a gift with that on it. She picked that to be the name of her blog because it represented both her and her husband, and I picked it as the theme of my gift for the same reason.

Supplies You Will Need:

  • Towel
  • Sulky Sticky Fabri- Solvy
  • Embroidery hoop
  • Needle
  • Thread or Floss
  • Scissors

Pick your design. You can create one using Picmonkey, like I did, or buy one of the wonderful designs Blitsy offers.

Print out your design on the Sticky Fabric- Solvy and apply to your towel.

The Sulky Sticky Fabri- Solvy really sticks well to fabric, but often I have to pick up and put down a project several times before it is completed. Because of this, I found it's best to sew a running stitch around the edge. This way my design is sure to stay in place.

Embroider your design using your preference of thread or floss. Once you have completed your design, soak the embroidered part in water to dissolve the the Fabri- Solvy. Your beautiful towel is complete!

Do you embroider? I'm still a newbie, but I have quickly fallen in love with it. I love how I was able to make a gift that was just as special and unique as the person who was receiving it.
