Easy DIY Textured Coasters
Have your kids make a set of super easy DIY textured coasters with bright neon colors. These will make a perfect gift for friends or family.
It's always fun to craft with your little ones, when you do something that can be used afterwards it's double the fun. Today I'm going to show you how you can make funky looking and extremely easy to make DIY textured coasters using kid safe easy techniques and materials.
These are really fun to make and will make a wonderful gift for family members and friends, your kids can make them in many colors and even add family member and friends names in the middle to make this an even more personal gift.
What you need
- Darice Unfinished Wood Coaster Set
- Crayola Washable Kids Paint Neon Colors
- Round Foam Brush
Dip the round foam brush into white Crayola washable paint, let it soak in some of the color. Press it down on the paper a few times for the color to foam just a little and now dab the brush onto the coaster (you can coat the coaster with white color first, to make the colors more intense). Dab color onto the whole coaster, you'll see a slight bubbly texture.
While the base white color is still wet, dab the neon color around the edges of the coaster. For a more dimensional effect you can use more color on the outer edges and decrease the amount of color as you work your way towards the middle (dab less color).
Now all that's left to do is to let them dry completely. If you want to make them more personal you can write on names with a Sharpie marker.
To make them last longer I recommend using a spray sealant.
