Don't you just love it when you discover a new crafting supply that just makes your heart so happy?!? I felt that way when I ordered the Jen Hadfield Alphabet Letters from Blitsy. They are FABULOUS. I have used them to make so many banners, I just had to share this one I made for New Years Eve with you. These alphabet cards are so simple and elegant. They can easily be embellished for any holiday, too!
Easy DIY New Year's Eve Party Banner
Here's what you need to make this New Year's Eve Banner:
- DIY Home Alphabet Banner Kit
- DIY Home Decorative Tape
- Scotch Tape
This project is soooo easy. Promise! Ready to get started? The first thing you need to do is open your alphabet pack and find the letters that spell "Happy New Year". The alphabet comes with white string, but you can use something different if you want a fun color. I liked the white that came with the letters, so I just stuck with that.
Next, string your letters with the white twine. I did use a little bit of tape on the back of each banner letter. I wanted my letters to stay in place, and not slide around on the string. You could also use a dab of hot glue, and it will work just as well.
After stringing each letter, I used the DIY Home Decorative Tape to embellish each alphabet banner at the top. I cut the tape at every fourth scallop, and it fit perfectly.
The DIY Home Decorative Tape comes with adhesive already on it, so all you have to do is peel off the backing and attach it to each letter. Easy peasy!
That's it! Now your banner is ready to hang! I threw together some treat containers and party favors, and my New Years party is now ready to go!
These DIY Shop treat sacks match my New Years Eve party perfectly!
I made these lovely gold tassels with the new We R Memory Keepers Fringe and Score Board. This tool is AMAZING. I think every champagne or wine glass needs a silver or gold tassel, don't you think? ;)
And lastly, to make my party complete, I made pretty straws with the DIY Shop Pleather Bows. So pretty and perfect for New Years!
I can't wait to celebrate New Years Eve with family and friends this year. Who knew you could make such a pretty banner with just two simple supplies?
I hope your holidays have been delightful, and that you're looking forward to the new year, too!
