Cut and score white card stock so that it is sized to 4.25 x 5.5 inches. If you find that you like making cards, consider picking up a stylus and a scoring tool to create clean, crisp card folds.
Selected two pieces of double-sided patterned paper and cut into various sizes smaller than the 4.25 x 5.5 card base cut in the previous step.
This is where the fun begins! Once each sheet of patterned paper is cut into various sizes, flip the paper over to reveal the contrasting side. Experiment layering each combo together to create new design at (literally) every turn! One characteristic I love about patterned paper packs is that someone has already taken the time to choose a color and pattern palette for you to mix and match. There's simply no way that your design will not be coordinated. When you are ready to arrange your patterned paper cuts onto your card base be sure that the piece of paper you will use for stamping/writing/sticking your sentiment is more neutral and less busy, so that your sentiment can stand out and be the star of the show!
Considering adding depth to layering patterned paper by way of foam tape. Stamp a sentiment or add a sentiment sticker to complete this card!
Let's take another look at the cards I created. I love that I could create four cards from two pieces of card stock and two sheets of 6 x6 card stock. The sticker sheet of sentiments from Simple Stories DIY collection added the perfect touch!
