DIY Watercolor Effect Journaling Cards

Posted by Kim Dellow

I love the mixed media and artsy looks in my memory keeping projects, and these really simple journaling cards fit perfectly with that look. You can use any templates for this project so don’t forget to check out the great templates/stencils/masks Blitsy often has on sale!

Here Is What You Will Need:

  • The Crafters Workshop Grandma's Doily 12 x 12 (here is another doily stencil to check out!)
  • American Crafts Becky Higgins Project Life Dies
  • Derwent Graphik Line Painter
  • ZIG Watercolor BrusH2O
  • ZIG Wink Of Stella Brush Marker - Black
  • Watercolor paper
  • Jakar Battery Operated Eraser
  • Pencil

Let’s Make!

Place the chosen template over the watercolor paper and lightly draw in the design with a pencil.

Scribble out the Derwent Graphik Line Painter on a piece of plastic and pick the color up with the ZIG Watercolor BrusH2O and add it to the pencilled shapes. Then let the paint dry.

Use one of the journaling card dies from the American Crafts Becky Higgins Project Life Dies set to cut out the card and erase any of the pencils marks you can.

Use the pencil again to write the sentiment then go over the line with the ZIG Wink Of Stella Brush Marker. Once the ink is dry, erase any pencil marks still showing.

It doesn’t take much to make some lovely watercolor effect journaling cards! They can add a really personal touch to your papercraft projects.

Thanks for popping by.
