Shark Week has evolved from a TV series that would run, to an entire week of scaring the crap out of people with crazy shark stories. Now, it's not all crazy shark encounter stories (this is the main bulk of it though), there are some educational nuggets shared throughout the week to properly inform people about sharks and their habitats. For example, I learned that Whale Sharks are the largest sharks out there in the wild. They don't eat other sea animals (unlike many of the other sharks), they actually eat plankton. Even though they are not going to gobble me up if we are face-to-face, I would rather not encounter one of these sharks since I am certain their enormous size would instantly induce a panic attack!
Okay, let's refocus and get back to the koozie...
I have always wanted to make my own koozie. I've inspected the promotional koozies I've collected at street festivals and thought: "I could totally make one of these!". The time finally came for me to get off the ledge and dive into DIY koozie making, and what better time than Shark Week?!
My koozie was super easy to make. I grabbed my foam sheets again (clearly this is a new product obsession for me) and used it as the base for my koozie. I figured foam was the perfect solution since it would act as an insulator, which is what you need to keep your beverage cold! To add some character to my koozie, I made some shark teeth, added some googly eyes, and topped it off with a fin. My shark koozie looks like it just devoured my car of pop in the most friendly way, of course. :)
