This simple kid's craft helps bring a frosty friend to life. Learn how to make a popsicle stick snowman, the perfect snow day activity.

What is a kid to do on a snow day? Build a frosty snowman, of course!

But who wants to be out in the cold, winter outdoors this time of year? Not us! So that's why my son and I recently made this adorable Popsicle Stick Snowman Kid Craft together, to not only pass the time BUT it's also makes for a great winter decor piece that can be displayed proudly anywhere in the house!

Want to do the same? Just follow the simple step-by-step tutorial below to build your own melt-free frosty friend with your child today! Happy crafting my friends!!!

Here's what you'll need:

  • Popsicle Sticks {12 per popsicle sticks per snowman}
  • Elmer's School Glue
  • White Paint Dabber
  • Black, Orange, Blue Felt
  • Scissors
  • Optional - Poinsettia Embellishment Stickers

Let's get crafty!

First you will want to assemble the base of your snowman. This is done by gluing your popsicle sticks together to look like a fence. Set aside to let it dry completely.

Once your popsicle sticks are glued securely together, have your child paint the front of the wood completely white with the paint dabber. Set aside again to let it dry completely.

Now you are ready for the embellishments. Grab your scissors and felt & cut out snowman features. Think hat, carrot nose, scarf - whatever you think your snowman will need to beat the winter blues!

To finish off the Popsicle Stick Snowman Kid Craft - glue all your felt pieces in place and add other embellishments you see fit. Then display proudly as is or add ribbon to the back for hanging or magnets to display proudly on the fridge. Whatever you decide to do, I hope you enjoyed making it with your child today!
