I have used pom pom trim before, but never mini pom pom trim. When I saw these tiny little balls of color at our warehouse, I grabbed them because I knew I would be able to come up with some sort of project featuring this adorable trim. After cruising the internet for some inspiration, I came across a gorgeous round flower called an Allium. This flower is round in shape and quite large. It usually comes in a really pretty purple color. After seeing these flowers, I grabbed my mini pom pom trim and began wrapping it around a small styrofoam ball. My mini pom pom trim created a look similar to the Allium flower in less than five minutes!

When I created my flower, I used a small styrofoam ball, making the size of my flower much smaller than a real Allium. I could have grabbed a larger styrofoam ball to create my flowers, but I kind of liked the smaller version I had created. Since there are so many different sizes of styrofoam balls, you could make your flowers as large or small as you want to match your space. You could also do different colors like yellow, orange, or purple. The sky really is the limit with these!

Here's what you'll need:

  • 1/2 Inch Styrofoam Balls
  • Mini Pom Pom Trim
  • Green Floral Wire and Floral Tape (or you could use these Flower Stems)
  • Scissors
  • Hot Glue Gun and Glue

Let's get crafty!

When you are finished making your flowers, plop them into a vase and place them on desk, mantle, or shelf!

You could also take this DIY one step further and add felt leaves to the wire stem!
