DIY Mason Jars with Chalk Paint

Posted by Laurel Beard

Hi there! It's Laurel Beard here with a fun and EASY project to do! All you need is a Mason Jar and some Americana Decor Chalk paint from Blitsy. The chalk paints come in a variety of colors and let me tell you, these paints go on like butter! So smooth and easy to use... Mason jars come in a variety of sizes and tints. Clear, Blue.... I went with green because I like the idea of having color on the inside of my jar.

I grabbed one of my wide flat paint brushes and started painting... Easy peasy. I think each took 3 coats...

Then I sanded off some of the paint off the etched words and voila... I was too lazy to find some sand paper so I used a nail buffer, ha ha ha! The colors I used are: Everlasting (white), Serene (blue) and Refreshing (teal).... The one on the right... Let's talk about that one. I put on 3 coats of Everlasting White and then took a dry brush and added a bit of Refreshing (teal) over the top... I love the combination of those two colors...

Here's a close up of the mason jar with 3 coats of Serene:

And the mason jar with 3 coats of Everlasting white and some brush strokes of Refreshing....

So fun!!!! I hope you'll give these chalk paints a try! They work with a TON of surfaces!!!!
