Magnetic bookmarks can be so easy to make, even for kids! Learn how in this step-by-step DIY tutorial.

Isn't reading is way more fun if you have a nice looking bookmark to keep your pages in check? That's especially true when it comes to books and kids! Let them make their own fun magnetic bookmarks they will love to read even more.

Supplies to Make Magnetic Bookmarks

  • Adhesive magnetic sheets
  • Construction paper
  • Duct tape
  • Stickers for decoration
  • Scissors

Got everything? Let's make the magnetic bookmarks! First decide on the width and length of the bookmark. There are no rules here. Once you have your idea, cut the bookmark out of construction paper. Also cut two rectangles, roughly the same size, out of the magnetic sheets with the adhesive. They have to fit on the paper strips.

Remove the foil on the back of the magnetic sheet and attach them on the edges of the paper strip as shown on the picture.

Once the two magnets are attached to the strip of paper, cover both sides with duct tape.

Cut any excess duct tape with scissors. You could also use decorative scissors to give your magnetic bookmarks some extra flare and interest.

Decorate with your magnetic bookmarks with stickers. Now they're ready to place into a book.

The possibilities for decorating your magnetic bookmarks are virtually endless!
