DIY Jewelry: Vintage Style Chandelier Earrings
Make these vintage-style chandelier earrings in just minutes with basic jewelry techniques!
Hey friends! Today's project uses Vintaj brass components to create a pair of vintage-style chandelier earrings - a style that's great for casual day at the office or a night out! Make simple bead charms with this tutorial and you'll have a pair of earrings in just minutes.
Here's what you'll need:
- 6 - 8mm Teardrop Beads (Blue Moon Beads, Bead Wardrobe Peach Collection)
- Vintaj Brass Metamorphosis Connectors
- Vintaj Brass Head Pins
- Vintaj Brass Jump Rings
- Vintaj Brass Earring Wires
- Round Nose Pliers
- Chain Nose Pliers
- Wire Cutters SKU
Begin by making six bead charms. For each charm, slip a teardrop shaped bead onto a brass head pin with the larger side at the bottom. Grip the head pin with your round pliers just above the narrow end of the bead. Wrap the end of the wire head pin around one side of your round pliers, forming a loop.
Next, wrap the wire around the pin under the loop you formed. It must only be coiled once around the pin to be secure, but your jewelry will look best if you continue to wrap until the entire space between the loop and the top of the bead is filled. Trim off any excess wire with your wire cutters. Repeat this process, making six charms in total.
Twist open jump rings with your chain nose pliers, and add a bead charm to each of the holes at the bottom of the brass connector. Add three charms to each brass connector, twisting each ring closed again with your pliers.
Finally, twist the ring at the bottom of each earring wire open with your chain nose pliers, and slip it through the hole at the top of each brass connector. Twist the loops closed again to finish each earring.
Thanks for joining me to learn how to make today's simple chandelier earrings! With a few great components, you can have beautiful handmade jewelry in 15 minutes or less!
