DIY Holiday Hot Chocolate Stir Sticks

Make these simply cute stir sticks for your seasonal hot chocolate soiree!

Hello, friends! Are you enjoying the cooler weather and holiday shopping? I thought it would be fun this year to take a break amidst all the holiday chaos, and have the kids invite a few friends over for a hot cocoa party! We are going to keep it really simple, with just a few flavors and toppings. I wanted to decorate a little, so I decided to use this adorable holiday paper to cover a glass milk container, and make some festive stir sticks. They were so easy to throw together!

Here's what you need to get started:

  • Christmas paper and accessories kit
  • Popsicle sticks
  • Adhesive pop-dots
  • Scissors

First, trim the present patterned paper down to individual pieces. Cut as many presents as you need for your stir sticks.

Next, place a pop-dot on the back of each present.

Adhere the present to the stick, making sure it's as close to the top of the popsicle stick as possible. You want to leave as much room for stirring your beverage as possible.

That's it! So easy! I would suggest cutting a few extra, and make sure you cut as many differently styled presents as you can. I kinda love how they are all so different!

You can place the stir sticks in each mug ahead of time, or place them in a fun jar for your guests.

For the milk bottle, I just wrapped it with leftover paper, and aded an embellishment to the front.

Our hot cocoa party is just a few days away, and I think these are going to be a big hit! You could even use this idea as a craft project during your party, and let the kids cut out the presents themselves.

I hope you enjoy the rest of the season, and don't forget to take a hot chocolate break once and awhile! ;)
