DIY Faux Wheat Grass Plant

Posted by Meghan Quinones
Get the look of planted wheat grass for your table or shelf, but without the maintenance of the real deal!

How are you at keeping plants alive? I, unfortunately, have a brown thumb (not sure if that is a real term or not!). I seem to kill every single plant I lay my hands on. I'm not really sure why I stink at keeping plants alive. I always have the fear that I am going to over water my plants, which, in turn, means I end up not watering them at all! I try to stick to plants like succulents that are able to retain water for longer periods of time and appear to care for themselves much better than I can.

I love the way wheat grass looks, but knowing well enough that I would definitely kill these plants in days, I decided to create my own faux version. It was really quite easy to whip up these faux grass pieces. When I say easy, I mean like a child could do it! Heck, you could totally recruit your kids to help whip up a bunch of grass shoots for you. They could also make their very own faux wheat grass plant for their bedroom!

Let's get crafty!

After you pop your adorable faux wheat grass into a vase, the only thing left to do is to find a new home for it!

I styled my plant on top of a stack of books and along side a camera. I think it looks perfect!
