DIY Colorful Wrapping Paper
I can honestly say I have never used a brayer before. I know, crazy, right? I was excited to try out the American Crafts Brayers. I just fell in love with the patterns. Polka dots and stripes? Yes, please!
For my projects, I decided to take a stab at designing my own wrapping paper. I went with a roll of plain kraft paper to decorate. Of course, I picked bright colors to add to my craft paper to really pop it out. When I started designing my pattern, I was going to try and make everything uniform. This proved to be a tad bit difficult. I was not doing the best job of lining of my designs. So, I ended up layering designs to give it more character. What I love about this projects is you can customize your packaging to any event. You could do white polka dots for a wedding shower, or even pink stripes for a baby shower. The possibilities are endless!
How would you decorate your wrapping paper?
Here's what you'll need:
- Kraft Wrapping Paper
- American Craft Brayers (Stripes and Polka Dots)
- Acrylic Paint
- Washi Tape
- Paint Brush
- Twine or Ribbon
Let's get crafty!
Lay your gift on top of your paper and cut out the size you need.
Tape your paper to your work surface (make sure you have something protecting your surface if it is a nice table).
Dip your paint brush in paint and paint over your brayer. You want to make sure there is a thin, even layer of paint covering your design.
Begin rolling your brayer over your paper. As you roll, you will see your design start to fade. You will stop when this happens.
Add paint to your brayer again and start your pattern where you left off.
When your paint is dry, grab your striped brayer and add orange paint. Begin going over your polka dot pattern with your stripes, repeating the above steps.
