DIY Christmas Tag
Gift buying season is in full swing now! Once you have all of your gifts, you then have to think about how you are going to package all of your goodies. Now, if you are like me, you want your gifts to stand out. You want the outside to be as exciting as what's inside.
In true Meghan fashion, when I saw The American Crafts Wood Veneer Banners I wanted to see if I could use them for my tags. I ended up grabbing the triangle banners because I thought they would be perfect as little trees! I used two different sizes of triangles to create a stacked tree effect. All I did was ink up my wooden veneers and viola! I created festive little trees! I used some dies to create my actual tags, added stickers, and finished my tags with some string. I think these little tags are perfect for adding just a little extra detail to all of your holiday packages.
Here's what you'll need:
- American Crafts Large White Dots Burlap Paper
- American Crafts DIY Shop Wood Veneer Banners
- Red and White Cardstock (see today's cardstock selection at Blitsy)
- Wendy Vecchi Archival Ink - Fern Green (see today's ink selection at Blitsy)
- Glue Dots
- Hole Punch
- Nesting Tag Dies
- Doily Die (or paper doilies) - See today's Doily selection at Blitsy
- White String
Let's get crafty!
Rub your Fern Green ink over the top of two different sized wood veneer triangles. Let the ink dry.
Use your smallest tag die with your polka dot burlap paper, your larger tag die with your red paper, and your doily die with your white paper.
Glue your burlap tag to the center of your red tag.
Glue your doily to your tag, wrapping the side of it around your tag.
Punch a hole towards the top of your tag. Cut a piece of string, fold it in half, and push the folded end through the hole in your tag.
Pull your two strings through the loop you created.
Add a stamp or sticker to your doily with your holiday greeting.
Add a Glue Dot to your larger triangle to your tag. Then, glue your smaller triangle to your larger one. You are finished!
