DIY Christmas Artwork
I started thinking about my holiday decor the other day. Now, normally I wouldn't allow myself to go "there" yet, but with the cold and snow we have been experiencing here is Chicago,it FEELS like the holiday season!
When I saw we were running a mini Christmas tree stencil from Stencil1, I wanted to see if I could incorporate it into a holiday decor project. So...I decided to stencil my tree onto a piece of paper. However, I wanted to take my tree one step further. I went and added glitter ornaments! After my glued dried for my glitter ornaments, I added my tree to my painted frame and then added some festive embellishments. My artwork is ready to be placed on my shelf in anticipation of the holiday season!
Here's what you'll need:
- Wooden Shadowbox Frame
- Stencil1 Winter Holiday 4 Pack
- Black and Green Acrylic paint
- 4x6 Card (or any paper you would like)
- Spray Adhesive
- Sponge Dauber
- Embellishments (I used enamel dots and a sticker)
Let's get crafty!
Paint the inside and outside of your wooden frame.
Spray adhesive on the back of your stencil, lay it over the center of your paper, and paint over it with your green paint. Let your paint dry.
Put drops of glue all over the branches of your Christmas tree.
Pour a generous amount of glitter over your glue. Let your glue dry and shake off your excess glitter.
Put glue on the back of your paper and glue it to the inside of your frame.
Add your favorite embellishment to the outside of the frame and you are finsished!
