Whether it's home decor or fashion, cactuses (or cacti if you are using the Latin version :D) are very on trend right now. This trend came around about a year or so ago and is still moving full steam ahead. My personal obsession with cactuses continues to grow the more inspiration I see out in the crafting world. When I recently came across the Spellbinders Shapeabilities Succulent Garden Die here at Blitsy, I knew I had to get my hands on it and create a playful card showcasing the very trendy cactus!

To create a cactus card, start by cutting out pieces of paper to fit all of your die pieces. The Spellbinders Shapeabilites Succulent Garden comes with two flower dies to add to your your cactus. I decided to use the one that looks like a clam shell, but you can use the other one if you fancy it. Once you have all of your papers cut, run them through your die cutting machine with your die. I cut two of the jade plants and 3 pots (one for each of my plants).

Next, dip your dauber into your distress ink and add color to the corners of your pots. This will give them some dimension.

To put your card together, cut down a piece of scrapbook paper and glue it to the front of a cardbase. Glue your plants on top of the scrapbook paper and then glue the pots on top. Add your sentiment and you are finished! Spellbinders Shapeabilities really make it easy to create a card with trendy shapes like succulents and cactuses!
