St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner. Are you ready for the luckiest holiday of them all? If you' re behind on making your shamrock decor this year, we've got you covered. You can use Ken Oliver Color Bursts to create cool marble looking paper that can be used to make shamrocks! This project is really simple to make your kids can even get involved in the DIY-ing.
To get started, you will lightly tap Color Bursts onto water color paper. Once you have added them all over your paper (remember: a little bit of these pigment powders goes a long way!). Use a spray bottle to lightly spray water over the pigments. This is when you will see the magic happen! Once you have activated the Color Bursts and have your desired design, dry the paper off with a heat tool. Once your paper is dry, cut a strip of paper large enough to fit your small heart die. Place the die on top of your paper and run it through a die cutting machine. You will do this a total of 4 times. Glue the bottoms of two heart die cuts together. Glue down the bottoms of your other two heart cuts until you have formed a shamrock. Cut out a stem and glue it to the bottom of your shamrock. Add glue to the center of your shamrock and add a button. Put hot glue on the back of your shamrock and add a wooden dowel rod. That's it! Now repeat these steps to create additional shamrock flowers for your bouquet.
See, creating last minute shamrock decor doesn't have to be hard, especially when the Color Bursts create paper with a unique design you won't find in big box stores. So much fun!
