Blitsy has basically all the card making supplies a crafter needs, including many amazing Stamps and Dies from Altenew. Florals are always trending in stamping, and Altenew has some of the best. Below are some ways to use these stamps with some of the other trending craft supplies including Color Burst, Alcohol Inks, and more.

Altenew’s Peony Spray Stamp Set and Prismacolor Pencils

Pinterest Pin

The Peony Spray is a beautifully hand drawn stamp image and is so fun to color.

For this technique you will need:

Peony Spray Stamp Set
Gray Paper - (I used Strathmore 400 Series Recycled Toned Sketch)
White Ink (I used Hero Arts White Pigment Ink)
Prismacolor Colored Pencils
Ek Success Powder Tool
Versamark Ink
White Embossing Powder
Heat Tool
Tombow Xtreme Adehesive Tape Runner
Optional - Clear Sequins
P
ink Card Base

First, stamp the image on your gray cardstock in white pigment ink. Once that is dry, take out your colored pencils in three to four similar colors and color the image. I used the set of Prismacolor Colored Pencils I received from Blitsy's Black Friday promo. These pencils are awesome and color so smoothly and blend effortlessly. I colored the flower using Mulberry, Process Red, Pink, and White. For the petals I used Grass Green, Apple Green, and True Green.

Once the image is colored, stamp the sentiment from the same set in Versmark ink and white. I heat embossed it and adhered it to a pink card base using Tombow Xtreme Adhesive Tape Runner. To add a little sparkle, I used some clear sequins.

Interactive Card with Altenew's Invasion Stamp and Alcohol Ink Background

Pinterest Pin

I love this cute ninja set and it's perfect to make into an interactive card.
Alcohol Inks are really trending now and I love the bold colors you get using them.

For this technique you will need:

Ninja Invasion Stamp Set
Yupo Paper
Black Cardstock
Washi Tape
Clipboard
Alcohol Inks
Versafine Ink
Versamark Ink
Clear and White Embossing Powder
Green Card Base
Heat Tool
Die Cut Machine
Art Impressions Action Mini Wobble Spring

Take the Yupo paper and tape it to the clipboard with some washi tape. I used some Tim Holtz Yupo Paper and took the Alcohol inks in Lettuce, Clover, Meadow and Pearl. Drop a couple of drops of each of the colors you want to use in the center and wait for the awesome effect to take place.

Adhere the Yupo paper to a green card base. Stamp one of the Ninja images in Versafine ink and clear embossed it. The great thing about this set is it allows you separately ink up the face and belt, so I used Altenew's ink in Paper Bag and Ruby Red. Die cut the image and then attach the Art Impressions Action Mini Wobble Spring to the back of the Ninja and place on the card.

Don't you just love how the Action Wobble makes the card instantly interactive?

Altenew’s Frosted Garden Stamp Set and Faux Watercoloring

Pinterest Pin

This Frosted Garden set is a beautiful stamp makes it easy to produce a gorgeous flower even if coloring is a little daunting.
This first card uses a faux water coloring technique

.

For this technique you will need:

Frosted Garden Stamp Set
Bristol Smooth Paper
Stamp Platform
Waterbased Inks (I used Altenew)
Spray Bottle (I used Tim Holtz Distress Sprayer)
Versamark Ink
Clear Embossing Powder
Heat Tool
Watercolor Pen (I used Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pen)
Waterbrush or Paint Brush ( I used Prima's Water Brush Pens)
Optional - Tonic Nuvo Drops

-----------

First, place a piece of Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper in your stamp platform. Pick out a couple of inks that go together, I used Altenew's Puffy Heart, Purple Wave, and Cosmic Berry. Take the lightest color and stamp the flower portion of the images. Then take the middle color and ink up various portions of the flowers. Do the same with the darkest ink, however before you stamp it, spritz a little water on the stamp. The Altenew inks are water based and so the image will spread a little and look like you watercolored the flowers. Repeat the same process with the leaves. I used Altenew's ink in Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades, and Evergreen.

Pinterest Pin

For the background, take a Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pen, I used Blue Gray and loosely color the background with the waterbrush pen. Once it is all dry, add your sentiment. I used Altenew Puffy Heart ink and then stamped Versmark ink and clear heat embossed it and adhered it to a navy card base using Tombow Xtreme Adhesive Tape Runner. To add a little sparkle, I used Tonic Nuvo Crystal Drops in Metallic Navy Blue.

Ken Oliver Color Burst Backgrounds with Altenew Frosted Garden Stamp Set

Pinterest Pin

For this card I used Color Bursts in Violet and Orchid with some Ken Oliver Platinum Mineral Bursts with the Frosted Garden Stamp Set.
The Mineral Bursts add a pretty shimmer to your project.

For this technique you will need:

Frosted Garden Stamp Set
Birthday Builder Set
Bristol Smooth Paper
Ken Oliver Color Bursts
Spray Bottle
EK Success Powder Tool
Versafine Ink
Clear Embossing Powder
Heat Tool
Optional - Stamp Plaform
Ken Oliver Mineral Bursts

----------

Make your background by lightly adding color bursts to the paper and spritzing with water. For some sheen add Ken Oliver Mineral Burst. Once the background is dry, use the EK Success Powder Tool to dust and prepare it for embossing. Take the Verafine ink and stamp the image and clear heat emboss it.

The sentiment is from the Altenew's Birthday Builder that has lots of happy birthday fonts, a staple for creating all those birthday cards.

Tim Holtz Alcohol Inks with Altenew Floral Spray

Pinterest Pin

There are so many ways to play with Tim Holtz Alcohol inks. Some favorites include staining glass, coloring metal ornaments, and creating bright backgrounds for cards.
Here I did a background and used Floral Spray by Altenew

For this technique you will need:

Floral Spray Set by Altenew
Yupo Paper
Washi Tape
Clipboard
EK Success Powder Tool
Versamark Ink
Embossing Powder
Heat Tool
Alcohol Inks
Optional Tim Holtz Alcohol Blending Pen and Cotton Swabs

----------

First start by prepping the Yupo Paper by taping it down with washi tape to the clipboard. This will help reduce the warping when embossing. Take the Powder Tool and lightly dust the Yupo paper. Stamp the image with the Versamark Ink and sprinkle the embossing powder on the image. Make sure your Heat Tool is very hot (wait a minute or two for it to fully warm up) and then quickly emboss the paper to limit warping.

Pinterest Pin

Carefully add the alcohol inks to the paper to achieve the desired look. I used Raspberry, Wild Plum, and Purple Twilight. I used the Blending Pen and cotton swabs to wipe of any ink that landed on my flowers. Once the paper was dry, I added vellum with a sentiment from the same stamp set and heat embossed it in gold as well. Optional: since I used Vellum I took out my Xyron 250 Create a Sticker Machine and ran it through. It applied a light sticky coating to the back of the vellum so I didn't have to worry about glue marks showing through.
