A Pretty Way to Tell Time

I realized the other day I do not have a clock in my living room. Having just moved into my new house, I must have lost my other clock? I have no idea how this happened!

Since it would be nice to tell time when I am hanging out in my living room, I wanted to see if I could make a customized clock. I LOVE the Crafter's workshop Byzantine stencil. I found an extra stencil in our warehouse, so I grabbed it knowing I would eventually find a use for it. The stencil measures 12x12, which was the perfect size for my round Walnut Hallow clock base. I painted my wood base and then laid my byzantine stencil on top and covered it with another color. Then, I added the clock kit to my clock base. You can pick the perfect paint combo to match any room in your home and in less than an hour you will have a new customized clock!

Here's what you'll need:

- Walnut Hollow 14 inch Clock Form
- Walnut Hollow Clock Movement w/Hands 1/4"
- Crafter's Workshop 12" Stencil
- 2 Different Colors of Paint
- Paint Brush
- Paint Dauber

Let's get crafty!

Step 1: Cover your clock form with 2 coats of paint. Let your paint dry.

Step 2: Lay your stencil on top of your clock form. Make sure the center of your stencil is in the center of your clock form. Begin using your paint dauber to go over your stencil. I only stenciled until the last ring of the stencil. After I lifted my stencil up, I used my paint brush to fill in the gaps left behind from not painting in the entire stencil.

Step 3: Follow the instructions on the back of your clock movement kit. After you have installed your clock hands, throw in a battery, set the time, and you have a cute new DIY clock!

What colors would you use to decorate your clock?
