A New Form of Artwork

Posted by Meghan Quinones

When I look at art, I am always so amazed. All of the texture and colors look so hard to create, unless of course you are an actual artist! I decided to use a little help from a party supply to create my very artwork with interesting texture and swirls. For this DIY artwork project, all you need are Pioneer National Latex Balloons! No paint brushes required!

This is the easiest way to fake being an actual artist! All you need to do is choose your favorite paint colors and begin creating textured swirls on your canvas with your balloons. Yep, it is really that easy!

Here's what you'll need:

- Pioneer National Latex Balloons

- Acrylic Paint (I used 5 different colors)

- Canvas

- Paper or Craft Mat (to protect your surface)

- Paper Plate

Let's get crafty!

Step 1: Blow up your balloons so you have two different sizes. One of my balloons was about 3 inches in diameter and the other balloon was about 2 inches in diameter.

Step 2: Squirt a generous amount of paint on to your paper plate. Then, dip the round end of your largest balloon into your paint and swirl it around.

Step 3: Place the end of your balloon on your canvas and spin it as you lift up. You will create a textured circle. Begin creating circles all over your canvas. I did some that were a little off my canvas (make sure your paper is covering your surface when you do this!). Let your paint dry.

Step 4: Once your paint is dry, repeat Steps 2 and 3 with your smaller balloon. Once again, create swirled circles all over your canvas. Let your paint dry. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 with all of your paint colors, letting your circles dry in-between each color.
