It's another week here at Blitsy and we want you to be inspired to make something awesome this week. That's right, we want to help get your creative juices flowing so you too can have a crafty week. This weeks 3 Things To Make With Blitsy covers fashion, party decor and DIY artwork!
My first project was actually inspired by a piece of artwork I saw at good old Target. It was a 3D flower cut out of paper. I loved the look of the cut paper, exposing a colorful piece of paper behind it. To create my own version of the 3D paper artwork, I used a dahlia stencil along with a craft knife and some cardstock. The process of cutting out the petals took a little while, but the end result was awesome! I am trying to figure out a way to create a larger scale version of this to use as a backdrop!
My second project this week was created because of an error on my part. When I ordered wooded candlesticks I thought they were going to be much larger (you know, like the size of an actual candlestick!). When I saw just how small my candlesticks actually were, I had to completely change my project idea. After some thought, I decided my mini candlesticks would make adorable cupcake stands! All I did was pair my candlestick with a round piece of wood and decorated it with paint, paper, and embellishments. I just love how they turned out!
For my third project this week, I made a fun burlap tote that incorporated fabric, Mod Podge and embroidery floss. I love cutting designs out of fabric and gluing them to a tote, apron, pillows, and more! Fabric Mod Podge makes it all possible. I am not really sure what I would do if I didn't have Mod Podge in my life! I stitched the edges of my fabric with embroidery floss to give them more of a finished look. This tote would be perfect to use as lunch bag!
