Ok, onto the full post.. Are you feeling crafty this week? If not, I am going to change your mind! For 3 Things To Make This Week, I channeled home decor. Giving your space a quick update with a pop of color sometimes is all it needs to change the way it looks. Updates like these do not need to be pricey, especially if you make them yourself!
Giving your couch or chair a makeover is really quite easy. All you need to do is swap out your pillows to completely change the way it looks. For this project, I grabbed a geometric stencil along with some yellow paint. All I did was stencil my pillow cover (you could make your own pillow cover, or you could grab that us already made). After I stenciled my cover I had a completely new look for my couch! See the full tutorial (with video) here!
Another fun way to update your space is by adding a sculpture piece that can add dimension and visual interest. I looked to West Elm for some inspiration and found a really cool metal orb. I wasn't sure how I was going to create my own version of it since I don't know how to weld metal! Instead, I grabbed some embroidery hoops, air drying clay, and silver metallic paint. I wrapped my hoops with clay and let it dry. Once my hoops were dry, I went over them with my metallic paint. My version of the West Elm Orb cost about $5!
