When it comes to gift giving, my philosophy is the outside should make the recipient want to tear the paper off immediately to see what's hiding inside. Having a well wrapped gift shows you cared enough to get a little gift-a-roo for that someone special, but you also took the time to make it look pretty. If the gift inside is a little meh (this happens people!), at least the outside looks like a million bucks! If you are giving someone a simple little token of your affection, it will have a bigger impact if the packaging is on point. Trust me.
I love keeping a roll of kraft wrapping paper on hand because it is so versatile. It's basically a blank canvas just begging to be decorated with any color or pattern! The neutral color works for all occasions. You can use it for a birthday, anniversary, or even a boy baby shower! I usually keep a few classic ribbon colors around so I have one that will compliment any special occasion. Obviously my ribbon wrapping trick works, but I wanted to see how other people jazzed up their kraft wrapping paper. So, I did a search and complied all of the lovely ideas I came across. I am now thinking I really need to step-up my kraft gift wrapping with some additional touches. I need to compile a list of crafty items (outside of just ribbon) to keep on hand so I can rule the gift wrapping game!
Have you ever used kraft paper to wrap a gift? Did you leave it plain, or did you put your own personal touch on it?
